A taxpayer may claim a credit of 30% of qualified expenditures for a system that serves a dwelling unit located in the United States and used as a residence by the taxpayer.

The Delaware Energy Office offers grants up to 50% of the installed cost of photovoltaic, solar water heating, wind, and geothermal renewable energy technologies.
-ENERGY STAR Appliance Rebate Program
This rebate program offers rebates of up to $100 for the purchase of an ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerator, freezer, clothes washer or dehumidifier.

-Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
The Delaware Energy Assistance Program (DEAP) is a federally funded program for eligible low-income families that need help in meeting their costs of home energy. DEAP provides fuel assistance and crisis assistance.
-Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)
The Delaware Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) installs energy efficiency improvements in the homes of eligible low-income persons and households to reduce their energy burden, lower their energy costs and improve their health and safety in the home.
-Chesapeake Utilities Sharing Program
The Sharing Program assists elderly, disabled or fixed income households with energy costs. Customer donations and matching shareholder contributions are administered by Catholic Charities in Kent and New Castle counties and by the Salvation Army in Sussex county.
-Delmarva Power's Budget Billing
With the Budget Billing option, you can avoid seasonal peaks in your electric and/or natural gas bills by dividing your payments evenly over the course of the entire year.
