Changes to the King Street Bus Stop at Rodney Square www.deldot.gov Wilmington - Changes to the King Street Bus Stop are due to the Landscape Improvement Project on Rodney Square. DART is shifting its King Street bus stop to either King Street just north of 11th Street at the former U.S. Post Office; on King Street just south of 10th Street at the Library; or on King Street at 9th Street, depending on the route. Route specific boarding locations will be posted on the bus stops. THE 11TH ST. AND 10TH ST. SIDES OF RODNEY SQUARE WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR BUS SERVICE AS USUAL. 2012 DART Resort Transit Bus Service Begins on May 24th www.deldot.gov Wilmington - DART First State will begin its 2012 Resort Transit bus service on Thursday, May 24, 2012. Resort Transit, operating 7 bus routes, 7 days a week from 7 AM to 1 AM, serves Rehoboth Beach and the Boardwalk, Lewes, Long Neck, Dewey Beach, Ruddertowne, Bethany Beach, South Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island, and Ocean City, MD. All buses are air-conditioned, ADA accessible and equipped with bike racks. The seasonal bus service operates through September 16, 2012. Visitors and residents are encouraged to use the DART Park & Ride lot located just off of DE Route 1 on Shuttle Road, just north of the entrance to Rehoboth Avenue. The parking rate is $7.00 per car per day and everyone in the car receives a free daily pass. For customers not using the Park & Ride, a daily pass can be purchased for $2.10 on the bus. The DART Route 305, Beach Connection, begins service on Friday, May 25, 2012, providing bus service from Wilmington to Rehoboth Beach on Friday nights, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays through September 3, 2012. Route 305 stops include Wilmington Train Station, Christiana Mall, Smyrna Rest Stop, Scarborough Park & Ride lot in Dover, Super Walmart in Milford, and the Rehoboth Park & Ride lot. The Beach Connection is a comfortable motor coach that offers 45 seats, 2 wheelchair positions, along with under coach storage compartments for beach gear and luggage. The one-way cash fares are $7.50 from Wilmington and $4.50 from Dover. Riders are encouraged to buy an anywhere pass for $9.45, which can also be used on all the Resort Transit routes, once at the Park & Ride. For Sussex County year-round service, effective Monday, May 21, Route 212 will no longer serve Coverdale Crossroads, resulting in minor time changes. Delmarva Power Electrical Work Will Result in Nighttime Lane Closures on I-95 www.deldot.gov Newark - Delmarva Power announces that effective Monday, May 21, I-95 motorists will encounter nighttime lane closures in both directions between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. between the Routes 896 and 273 exits near Newark. These lane closures are necessary while Delmarva Power contract crews replace electrical conduit located under the Chapman Road Bridge, which crosses over I-95. The lane closures could affect up to three lanes in either direction and may last up to eight weeks. Additionally, the north and southbound accesses to the I-95 Delaware Travel Plaza (Rest Area), located between the two exits, will be affected, requiring motorists to exit and re-enter I-95 to gain access to the Rest Area. Detour routes will be marked.
