Operation Homefront these programs:
1) Critical financial assistance for post 9/11 OIF/OEF veterans, service members, and their families. Assistance offered includes help with housing, food, utilities, car repairs, car payments, moving, and other assistance. Applications are accepted at www.operationhomefront.org from the 1st through the 10th of every month.
2) Family Support Services: baby showers, back to school brigade programs (August), and holiday meal events (December) are offered. Registrations for these are available at www.operationhomefront.org leading up to the events.
3) Housing programs: transitional housing is available our Villages located in Gaithersburg MD, San Antonio TX, and San Diego CA. Our "Homes on the Homefront" program provides mortgage free homes and is open to all generations of veterans who a) don't currently own a home, b) were honorably discharged, c) don't have a felony on their record, d) have an income to sustain home ownership, and e) have community ties. Applications are accepted at www.homesonthehomefront.org.
4) Hearts of Valor: Through on-site support communities, and our virtual community that includes an online discussion forum, Hearts of Valor provides caregivers with opportunities to build relationships, access resources and enjoy brief moments of rest and respite from their care giving responsibilities. www.heartsofvalor.org
